When Josh and Eric started 11 Online in 2014, and Jay and I (and Florian Goussin) started Hermes Development in 2015, we could have never anticipated what the end result would be. We built lots and lots of software, served clients, created jobs, learned dozens (and possibly hundreds) of technologies, hired employees, negotiated deals, merged companies, and learned what it takes to run a business. And now, that journey is coming to an end. One of our clients, Call2Test, made Jay, Josh, Eric and me an offer to work for them full-time, and after much deliberation, we decided to take the plunge. Effective June 1, we are leaving 11 Online.
But 11 Online lives on! Justin & Daniel of Iterative Consulting are the bosses now – I’ve known them for several years, and admired their approach in building a consulting business. I am confident that they will take 11 to new heights going forward.
Although it’s a happy development for the partners, there’s plenty we will miss about 11. Starting with our employees – Matt, Derek, McEl, and Jacob. Although we didn’t accomplish everything we set out to do at the outset, I hope we built a good place for them to work and grow. And I strongly believe 11 Online will serve as a springboard for their continued professional growth. So to all 11 Online employees past and present: thanks, and we wish you continued success in work and life.
Without our partners and clients, we wouldn’t have been able to build and sustain our business. To all of our clients: we’ll miss collaborating with you! Thank you for trusting us with your business. You are in good hands with Iterative and their team.
On my end, I have to thank my partners – Jay, Josh, and Eric. We earned this, and I’m so excited to continue working together with my friends for years to come. Best thing that ever happened in my professional life was meeting you fellas.
Lastly, I want to shout out supporters in the community who helped us along the way. In no particular order: R. Bruce Pitt, T.J. Cook, Ruben Garcia, Gordon Klein, Nyika Allen, Matt Pacheco, Zach Lerner, Dylan McDonald, Dan Heron, John Mierzwa, Charles Ashley, Sam Hotchkiss, Jamii Corley, Dr. William Campbell, Dr. Reid Hester, Scott Appelman, Lindsay Fattor, Avelina Borrego, Anita Kelley, Monica Christofferson, Dezaree Vega-Garcia, Joanie Griffin, Zach Lovelady, Ric Aguilar, Eric Renz-Whitmore. By no means exhaustive, so apologies to anyone we overlooked.
I love Albuquerque and I love New Mexico. 2019 is my seventh year here, and in a few years, it’ll be the place I’ve lived the longest. New Mexico is my home – it’s where I’m raising a family, where I built a real career, where most of my dearest friends now reside.
So I’m not going anywhere. We’re not going anywhere. I am dedicated to the mission of making our state and city a better place to live and thrive – so I’ll be involved in a few local tech/biz initiatives going forward (more info on my Twitter soon).
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and excited about what’s next. Thanks again to all our advocates and supporters!
